Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This policy describes how Random Song Generator at randomsonggenerator.app handles information when you browse, discover music and use our singing and songwriting tools.

Random Song Generator is operated by NanyuTech LLC.

Song requests and service data

When you request songs on the homepage, your browser sends your selected source, genre, decade, listening market, batch size and song IDs to exclude, together with a random request ID and a human-verification token, to our song API. These inputs help return a batch that matches your choices and avoids repeats.

We use Cloudflare Turnstile for human verification. When verification runs, our server sends the token, the request ID and your IP address when available to Cloudflare to check the request.

Song discovery uses Apple Music / iTunes Search, with Deezer as a fallback. Our database stores music metadata and shared catalog snapshots used to serve song results. The word, album, topic and song association tools select from their included collections in your browser.

Browser storage

The homepage uses session storage for your queue, recent history, saved songs and songs already seen. Topic pages store their queue, history, current selection and saved song IDs in session storage. The word generator, album picker and song association game also keep used words or albums in session storage to avoid repeats.

Local storage remembers homepage playback preferences, including batch size, auto-play and continuous discovery, and whether you have dismissed the dial hint. The shared theme provider uses local storage for a selected theme.

You can remove these records through your browser's site-data controls. Doing so resets the associated history, saved selections or preferences. These browser records are not an account library.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand visits to our website. Google may set cookies such as _ga to measure visits. See Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Our shared pages also configure Pageview analytics through Plausible to send page visits, outbound-link clicks and file downloads to app.pageview.app.

We do not use Microsoft Clarity.

Your browser's privacy settings let you manage cookies and other site data, including data used by third-party services loaded on a page. Clearing browser storage also removes the music-tool records described above.

Music players and external services

We use official Spotify and YouTube embedded players, direct Apple and Deezer audio previews, and remote cover artwork. Loading these players or media makes requests from your browser to the relevant provider. Provider links take you to external music services, which handle your interactions under their own privacy policies.

Music playback and availability depend on the provider. Any account you use inside an external music service is handled by that service.

Accounts and shared song links

The public music tools do not provide account registration or sign-in. Shared song links identify a track by its music provider and track ID; they do not include an identity for the person sharing it.

Data retention

We do not keep personal data on our servers or maintain a database of user data. Google Analytics data is retained by Google according to our analytics property settings. Browser-side records stay in your browser until you clear them or the browser session ends for session-storage records. Third-party services, including Cloudflare Turnstile and Spotify, Apple and YouTube music services, handle data under their own privacy policies.
